Misfit Academy provides quality innovative performing arts programming focusing on the intersection between unconventional staging and complex storytelling. Since 2011 we have produced over 400 live performances from local and touring artists including immersive theatrical runs, one-night Shakespeare adaptations, themed variety show/costume party hybrid performances, and multidisciplinary rock and performance art productions.

Part of our mission is to provide development space and resources to performance art styles which struggle to find a home in more conventional art spaces.

Much of the work we produce combines artistic forms, disciplines, and backgrounds in ways that are not easily defined by traditional arts programming. In doing so, we encourage audiences from all backgrounds to become a part of the worlds we create in ways that encourage deep connection to the work and reward a sense of play.
